Deciphering

I'm getting to know Hazarlas. He never says everything. Each time, his words present only part of his thought, as if to invite you to go further by yourself and appropriate. So for stellar song, fable or not ?
I do not know but it does not matter. The most important thing is to find what he wish to point out. What considerations emerge from his story ? What are the keys ? Here are my first insights.

1 man = 1 dose of freedom

The man appears at most like a piece of freedom left to itself. His body is the means of expression, the Earth the theater.
Assuming only their materiality, men go round in circles. Thus all their acts and deeds target and regard this single condition. We work, we care, we get involved only around this narrow envelope. It is clear that this plays tricks on us and we fail. Kings do not escape to this rule. They're proud to elevate all kinds of pyramids and sit on them, but these are nothing but piles of stuff and bits of empty material. As long as men are satisfied with this procession, they will not go anyway. But now they destroy the theater that houses them, thus compromising the very plot of their performance.

So "human would not be everything" in other words "man would be more than human" ? How to consider these assertions ? It would mean first of all that man must stop to behave as the paragon of evolution. No, the human body would no longer be an culmination, an apotheosis, a luminary of animal cause but a vehicle, a tool, a mean.
Thus, behind the confusion maintained by the constraints and obligations of earth life, our daily lives could conceal an ultimate meaning. According to Hazarlas, this shadow could be our confrontation with freedom. Can it really claim to be a guiding thread in the progress of humanity ? The question deserves to be examined.

The guest

I'm not savvy enough to get into a scrupulous analysis of the human adventure. So I have to content myself with a shameless overview of history, or more exactly, a little trip to its backoom .

Appropriation of the world
Learning fire, imagining and building tools, inventing agriculture then melting metals, all this attests to appropriating its environment. But if sedentarization marked a big step, it's the advent of writing that definitively seals the singular trajectory of the man. Then to be beset by perpetual dreams of elsewhere as by unfulfilled desires for conquest would it not be project the meaning of the world beyond what is known ? And what about the science never satiated seen since its emergence ? Just like arts that offer this elusive connection to oneself and to others ? All this participates to mark the path of man on the path of his own discovery.
Man seems associated with the ability to act as if it were given to him to escape from the mere condition of a creature. This uncontrolled appetite for emancipation, this disproportionate ability to bring down one by one the barriers that stand out, seem to me marked with the seal of freedom, as if it streamed secretly, in the hollow of our veins.

Ownership of the person
But let's also be interested in the person. At the beginning of the man, the notion of individual is fading in front of the clan, organized group for survival. We stand together facing the unknown and the perils of everyday life. However, we can not disprove that as in a horde, some personalities dominate the group.
Sedentarization changes the game. Plan its subsistence, dispose of a less rudimentary habitat, alleviate the pressure of daily life. With the organization in hamlets and villages, the promiscuity of the clan has vanished in favor of more space for everyone's expression.
As the population increases, trajectories become more personal. As soon as the grouping reaches a certain size, individuals specialize in particular functions. The first notables emerge.
Prosperity becomes synonymous with respectability and authority. The material to build all kinds of pyramids of influences is ready. There has been pell-mell lords, kings, nobles, bourgeois and by their side serfs, farmers, workers, craftmen collectively known as "the people". Do not forget to invite to this charming family portrait, the "so charitable" slaves.
Then a hiccup of circumstances establishes the relevance of swapping an undivided reign for a state of law, equality and dignity. Dignity becomes an inalienable good of every individual.
On the ruins of the aristocratic potentate rises the business empire. The "fairy industry" initiates the pitiful condition of the working class. But we have already so much acquired the taste for individual to let it go. Exhilarated, we are even won by the idea that a human dignity may hide behind every woman  !
This brief evocation suggests that behind the cacophony played by human through his history, one can detect in filigree the assiduous emergence of the person and his aspiration to dispose freely of himself.

So what ?
All this leads us to today, but nowadays how do we take care of freedom ?
The situation is not so clear everywhere on the planet but overall the idea of individual has gained weight. No one is willing now to let his freedom get crumpled without flinching. It's a wise decision !
But how to cope with the individualism that has also engulfed ? What to expect from a mass of individuals focused on optimizing their person but devoid of any concern for the common good ? Lets's observe them. They are the worthy imitators of the agonizing fly. Lying on their backs they roar on the floor describing circles in incessant obstinacy. And everyone, intoxicated by his hyperactivity, claims jealously his prerogatives : "But leave me to my rounds !"
No way out ? Sometimes against all odds, it rises like a shiver coming from nowhere and we already imagine that it could crack the heavy unanimity. But madness is only transient and enthusiasm falls immediately. Next time maybe ?
In any case, I bet that if men took the side of not to compensate their helplessness by the consumption of lifeless thingies, they would quickly find another resonance, another source of enjoyment. And according to the suggestion of Hazarlas, the full recognition of the meaning of our freedom could be the key.
